RADIANT HEAT

Radiant Heating:  Heat that “radiates” from an object.
We can heat many different objects: floors, walls, ceilings, baseboards, even driveways – all are forms of radiant heat. The intent is to create a comfortable, safe, energy efficient, environmentally friendly and healthy heating system. Radiant heat is excellent for healthy home applications due to the fact there is minimal air movement. Which means less dust and air borne contaminates.

Hydronic (Liquid) In-Floor Heating:
Of the three basic types of radiant heat (Air, Electric, Hydronic) Lagois Mechanical specializes in Hydronic (Liquid) in-floor heating. Radiant heating systems are very energy efficient; however the number one reason for considering radiant heat is COMFORT – evenly distributed heat from the “ground” up.  Once you experience hydronic radiant heating, you will not want to go back to conventional heating systems!

Endless Possibilities for Radiant Heating:
Radiant heating is very diversified: heating only a basement area (common application for Lagois Mechanical), only a loft, only a garage, a driveway /walkway (snow melt) or a complete home. For renovations, we often find that it’s more economical, environmentally friendly and energy efficient to use hydronic heating for a particular space (opposed to replacing existing furnaces and duct work). Radiant heat can have any heat source: Wood Burning Boilers, Geothermal, Solar (supplemental), Gas, Oil, Propane, Electric, etc. On demand and/or tankless boilers work well with radiant systems – the possibilities are endless…. Even snow melt applications!
