Radiant heat (Hydronic) was used in the addition only: basement slab, ground floor and 2'nd floor. Radiant heat was the best solution; avoiding demolition of existing finished) basement to extend forced air heat ducts.
The basement has tubing in the concrete slab; the ground floor and 2'nd floor utilize tubing within the floor system, using metal deflector plates to transfer heat.
Air conditioning for the addition is a ductless system, an excellent solution avoiding upsizing the existing system and avoiding air distribution issues.
