Snow Melt Application
The existing driveway slopes towards the garage making snow removal difficult, as well as the driveway conditions being treacherous, due to ice accumulation, throughout the entire winter.
The existing asphalt and approximately 16" of soil was removed to accommodate new rigid insulation, Pex tubing and a new concrete over-pour. Pex tubes were also wrapped around the existing drain to help prevent freezing. An independent gas fired boiler was used as the energy source. A snow sensor regulates when the system is activated.
