When Patti and John purchased their 60-year-old Manotick waterfront home, they thought various renovations could be made to achieve their desired dream home. However; after exploring all options, they decided that the best plan was to demolish and re-build.
Following design meetings with Herb and our Lagois team ensuring that every detail was unique and custom to their style and liking – construction began and the vision of their dream home was becoming a reality!

Their bright kitchen hosts a large island with extra seating space if desired and the patio doors with transom window lead to a quaint balcony that’s a perfect spot for watching boats pass by. Large oversized patio doors off of their lovely dining area open up to a rear balcony overlooking the family’s pool. An ideal location for their outdoor family meals on warm, summer days.
The hardwood floors in their living room and connecting office generate a warm vibe that’s complemented with a stone-surround gas fireplace for cozy winter evenings.
The patio doors with ornate Juliette balcony in Patti and John’s master bedroom is ideally situated so that they can enjoy the river view upon waking up. The antique furnishings in the loft-style bedrooms add to their home’s charm.
Their ensuite bathroom has many soft and luxurious details creating a spa-like atmosphere. The modern freestanding tub and faucet are cleverly tucked away and the glass shower doors help generate more space. Their double vanity allows John and Patti to each have their own space and the medicine cabinets are handy for storing toiletries. The chandelier they chose adds a dramatic glamour to the room.
The basement recreational room area is one of John’s favourite spots, as it’s cozy and inviting plus the bonus of easy access to his garage. One of Patti and John’s design mandates was to have a walk-out basement leading to the beautiful rear yard. The large windows on the rear of their home were purposely placed so that they can enjoy the beautiful river view from almost anywhere on all levels.
Patti and John love their stunning home that has loads of curb appeal while at the same time compliments their neighbouring homes.
