This Family Room & Garage Addition was designed to create additional living space as well as improving the overall appearance of the existing house. The addition incorporates a rear Dinette, a Family room, a Master Bedroom and En suite. Along with the addition a new roof was added over the entire existing structure, creating a dramatic new look. Interlock walkways, and patio areas, along with planter areas compliment the addition to create a stunning front & rear yard.
Emphasis was placed on designing an addition that blends into the existing, flows well, and lets an abundance of natural light into the existing home. The design challenge was to create maximum space within the set back requirements. The various indentations in the floor plan actually accommodate the angled property line.
A panoramic bay window, along with cathedral ceilings were used to create feeling of openness and space. The Dinette is directly off the existing kitchen, and is separated from the Family room by an open circular stair case., thus creating a feeling of separation yet maintaining an open "airy" feeling. The Family room is further complimented with a bay window overlooking the front yard.
