It was perfect. The sun was shining, the temperature was exactly right, and the Lagois 16th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held Sept. 12 at Manderley on the Green, raised even more money than last year for Ronald McDonald House in Ottawa.

The tournament, held each year in memory of beloved Lagois team member, Chris Parish, is a full day with friends, sponsors, trade partners and even non-golfers. The event is to raise money for Ronald McDonald House, one of the favourite charities of Lagois.

“We are truly moved by the generosity all those who donated prizes, silent auction items and monetary contributions,” said Lagois Office Manager Brenda Salmon. She added everyone’s support makes a real difference to families. These are parents who rely on Ronald McDonald House when their children must stay for extended periods in hospital.

Brenda said even the scores were good that day.

“Six teams had from nine under to 14 under par,” she said. “Amazing!”

She and the team offered special thanks to high school student Spencer Ashman for volunteering with them for the day.

Next year’s tournament will be held early in September. Put it on the calendar!
