It might be almost November, but there are still some good activities for anyone looking for great food, music, and shopping. Ottawa and area are alive and well as we await the hustle and bustle of December.
Here are some ideas for this “in between” month, when summer is over and winter hasn’t quite begun.

Orléans Cork & Fork Festival
November 7–8
Shenkman Arts Centre
245 Centrum Blvd, Orléans
This might be the perfect venue for November. Have a taste of local food, wine and craft beverages… and at the same time enjoy fabulous live music with several superb artists.

One World Bazaar
Weekends until November 23, 10 am to 5 pm
6110 Mitch Owens Road, Manotick
This is the Bazaar’s 21st season, and it is a shopping adventure unlike any other. There are the beautiful items made by local artisans; there is also live music, good food and rich cultural experiences. It’s a lovely family event, and free. Each weekend is different, just as each artisan is different. For example, you might enjoy the German Cultural Weekend or the Artisan Appreciation Weekend or the final Closing Weekend.

Ontario Festival of Small Halls
Until December 6
Small Halls across Ontario
It's one of the sweetest of musical events for music lovers. Each is held in a small venue ‒ for example, small churches and community centres ‒ in different parts of Ontario.
There are 45 shows including AHI, The Pairs, Chantal Kreviazuk, The Rowdymen, Irish Mythen, The Arrogant Worms, Ashley MacIsaac, Bright Strings Community Fiddle Orchestra, Mia Kelly, Blair Dunlop, Sarah Hagen, Devon Cuddy Duo, Sam Polley and The Old Tomorrows, Danny Michel, Junkhouse, Corb Lund, Hawksley Workman, Ben Caplan, The Once, Whitehorse, and Tim Baker.
The Ontario Festival of Small Halls has a wonderful history, here.
