August! The last month of summer! There’s lots of life left in the season yet, starting with two of some of the best kinds of family events: Festivals and Fairs.
Here are some you might like.
Festivals
The Great India Festival
Aug 7 – 10

Treat yourself to colour and a beautiful culture with dance, music, art, education, yoga and cuisine.
Nostalgia Music Festival

Aug 20 – 24
LeBreton Flats near downtown Ottawa
Five days of classic rock from the 70s, 80s and 90s! The nostalgic festival features concerts by some of the best tribute bands anywhere. There will be food and drink vendors and large-format screens, and even a “VIP” section with cabaret-style seating, exclusive bar service and private washrooms.
Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival/ Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau (FMG)

Aug 27 – 31
Parc de la Baie, Gatineau
Look into the sky and see the many exciting colours of hot air balloons. Hear great music and watch fireworks. Go for a ride in a hot air balloon! Rides happen, depending on weather conditions, every day at 6:30 am and 6:30 pm.
Ottawa Buskerfest Festival

August 8 to 10
Ottawa’s Sparks Street
Watch world-class performers: dazzling sights and sounds for all ages.
