It isn’t quite fall, and it isn’t quite summer. Children are back in school, and life slowly begins at a new pace.

Some people say September is the best month to get outside and enjoy the weather and our community.

There are several wonderful things to do here in Ottawa and area in September. These are some of them.

City Folk Festival

September 10 to 14

The Great Lawn, Lansdowne Park and throughout The Glebe

It’s a great mix of music all day long on many indoor and outdoor stages featuring established and well-known musicians.

The music ranges from folk, rock, alternative, bluegrass, hip hop, country and other genres.

There are new brews to try at the craft beer fair, local artisan products, children’s activities and family performances.

In addition to this being another fun-filled year (the fair’s 170th), the big (really big) added attraction is a once-in-a-lifetime event: the RCMP Musical Ride on Saturday, Sept. 13. There will be 32 uniformed RCMP officers on horseback in a display of precision cavalry drills set to music. Spencerville is the only fair in Ontario scheduled to host the Ride this year. Admission to the Ride is included with your fair ticket, on sale now, here.
